Technology & Applied Sciences

MATC Arthur J. Ehne Endowment

Must be enrolled full-time in a Technology & Applied Sciences Division program; must have completed 15 program credits; minimum 2.5 GPA.
Amount: $1000    Deadline:  April 15

MATC Brian Schmelzer Memorial

Must be enrolled in the Airframe and Powerplant program; must have completed the general courses relating to this program and be continuing education in the program; must be taking at least 9 credits; minimum 3.0 GPA.

MATC Dermond Aviation Scholarship

Must be a member of a minority group defined as African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native, or female; must be an active student enrolled in the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) program and have completed the general courses relating to this program; must carry a minimum credit load of  9 credits; must carry a 2.5 GPA or better within the general courses of the program; and must receive a recommendation from an MATC instructor or counselor.
Amount: $500    Deadline:  April 15

MATC Embassy Construction Scholarship

Must be enrolled and carrying a minimum of 9 credits in one of the following building construction programs: Bricklaying and Masonry; Cabinetmaking and Millwork; Carpentry; Electricity; Construction Electricity; Landscape Horticulture; Architectural Technology; or Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating. Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to applicants who meet standard criteria of financial need as determined by the Federal Student Financial Aid program.

MATC Embassy Construction Corporation Scholarship

Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits in a program at Milwaukee Area Technical College with preference given to but not limited to students enrolled in one of the building construction programs; must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

MATC Grainger - Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship

Must be entering second year in a technical program including: electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, welding, automotive, construction, etc.   Must submit a list of clubs, activities, leadership roles held and years involved; an essay of 200-300 words on why the student chose to study technical education, how their achievements and/or leadership roles have helped them grow individually and their future goals within the technical field; one letter of recommendation from a teacher or advisor.  Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Students must fill out a Grainger - Tools for Tomorrow application. MATC Felix Neal Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in the Diesel and Power train Servicing Diploma Program. Must have successfully completed the first semester of the program. Must have a 2.5 GPA or better. Must meet the standard criteria of federal financial aid as determined by the Federal Student Aid program.
Amount: $500    Deadline: April 15/October 15

MATC Maki Nishi

Must be a female student enrolled in the Fire or Police Science program in at least 9 credits; must have completed 24 program credits; minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to females enrolled in Fire Science.

MATC HCH Miller Park Stadium District Scholarship

Must be either a member of a minority group defined as African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native, or female; must be in a construction or construction-related program (see list of eligible programs on application); must be enrolled and accepted in a program carrying a minimum of six credits; must submit two letters of recommendation, one must be from an instructor in their program of study; must meet standard criteria of financial need as determined by the Federal Student Financial Aid program; minimum 2.5 GPA. Must use HCH Miller Park Application available in the Scholarship Clearinghouse.

MATC NARI Home Remodeling Scholarship

Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits in a program at Milwaukee Area Technical College with preference given to students enrolled in one of the building construction programs such as:  Bricklaying and Masonry; Cabinetmaking and Millwork; Carpentry; Electricity; Construction Electricity; Landscape Horticulture; Architectural Technology; Air Conditioning; Refrigeration, and Heating. All applicants must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.  Applicants must submit a completed MATC Foundation Scholarship Application by the appropriate deadline to be considered for an award.  Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from instructors, employers or others who have knowledge of the applicant's skills and abilities.  Applicants must verify their level of financial need as determined by the Federal Student Financial Aid program. Applicants must be making satisfactory academic progress as defined by MATC's standards of academic success to be considered for renewal of this scholarship.  Applicants must acknowledge the scholarship in writing with a thank you to the donor prior to receipt of the scholarship award.

MATC NARI Home Trades

Must be enrolled full-time in Bricklaying and Masonry; Cabinetmaking and Millwork; Carpentry; Electricity; Construction Electricity; Landscape Horticulture; Architectural Technology; or Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating program; must meet standard criteria of financial need as determined by the Federal Student Financial Aid program; minimum 2.5 GPA.

MATC Tom M. Armour

Must be enrolled at the Oak Creek Campus in the Auto Body and Paint Technician or Automotive Maintenance Technician program; must currently be enrolled in at least 7 credits. Preference will be given to students currently employed in an automotive-related field.

MATC Vilter Manufacturing Development Scholarship

Must be a student enrolled in one of the following diploma or associate degree programs:  Electronic Technology, Welding, Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning; must be enrolled in at least 9 credits; must have a minimum 2.8 GPA; preference will be given to applicants from the following ethnic backgrounds:  African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native, or female; must meet the standard criteria of financial need as determined by guideline of the Federal Student Financial Aid Program.

American Chemical Society Scholar Program

African-American, Hispanic/ Latino, American Indian or Alaskan Native; U. American Society for Metals Foundation (ASM)

Metallurgy or materials science engineering; must have completed the first year of college by June 15; must be a citizen of United States, Canada or Mexico; applicants must be enrolled in a college or university in the United States, Canada or Mexico; applicants majoring in related science or engineering disciplines will be considered if they demonstrate a strong academic emphasis and a interest in materials science and engineering through their application and information; applicants must be a member of ASM International to qualify for the G.A. Wisconsin Laboratory Association

Technical students beginning their second year, undergraduate university students entering their third or fourth year of college, or graduate students enrolled in a graduate program. Majority of required courses must involve environmental studies, water and wastewater, food and /or dairy, cosmetics, public health, hazardous waste, or pulp and paper, and are laboratory related; must have at least a "B" GPA.
