  • Violette Parson Weeks Emergency Scholarship - Note: Students must have completed six (6) credits with a current cumulative GPA of 2.0. One $500 award available per semester.

The MATC Foundation has established these three emergency funds to help meet the financial needs of MATC students who encounter an emergency situation or one-time, unusual, or unforeseen expense that prevent students from attending school. Situations eligible for funding include such events as theft, major accidents and events such as fire and natural disasters.

Normal living expenses such as rent, car repairs, child care, and utilities are generally NOT considered emergency situations and will not be covered by emergency funds. In addition, emergencies that are the result of poor planning will not be covered, nor will emergencies that cannot be fully resolved by a reasonable financial award. Exceptions may be made for extraordinary circumstances, however, students must provide a plan for managing future expenses.

Students must be in good academic standing and qualify for need-based financial aid. An emergency award may reduce original loan amounts. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for help in evaluating your individual circumstances. Applications will be reviewed as needed, but only after they are complete.
