CAREER Counseling
MATC's Career Planning Center has abundant resources to help you make decisions about your college major and your career. Three-fourths of college students are undecided about their college major. It might help to remember that your choice of major is not a once-and-forever decision. You can expect to change careers six or seven times during your work life. The Career Planning Center is located in Room S209 at the Milwaukee Campus Student Center. Please call 414-297-6267 for information.
Your interests, values and abilities will influence your career choices. To help you decide, MATC offers the following:
Exploring College Majors workshop: This free, three-hour seminar will help you identify which of MATC's more than 170 degree, diploma and certificate programs are best suited to your abilities and interests. The workshop covers labor market trends, in-demand career areas, how to enter those careers and average salaries. You will complete a career interest inventory as part of this workshop. See the schedule for times and dates.
Career Directions workshop: This two-session seminar helps those who are ready for a career change or are considering one. Designed to help you discover which careers best fit you, the seminar includes career interest and personality inventories to point you in the right direction. See the schedule for dates and times.
