This associate degree program prepares you to become a physical therapist assistant in a hospital, nursing home, rehabilitation center or other health care facility. Duties include assisting the physical therapist in implementing treatment programs, teaching patients to perform exercises, and conducting treatments using special equipment. The need for physical therapist assistants is projected to grow due to the increased need for support personnel in health care. Core skills include dependability, patience and empathy.
