A criteria considered in the petition process is verification of student residency. Selection will be based on residency and will be prioritized according to these criteria: Milwaukee Area Technical College District resident; State of Wisconsin resident; out-of-state resident.
Note: Assistance with petition packet paperwork will not be provided once petition windows have opened.

The Medical Assistant two-semester program emphasizes the skills and knowledge needed to work in doctors' offices, clinics and other medical facilities. As one of health care's most versatile professionals, graduates perform various duties such as assisting in the physical exam, drawing blood, administering EKGs, and carrying out lab procedures. Core skills include accuracy and the ability to work with people, often in fast-paced situations. The demand for Certified Medical Assistants is high. This program may be taken on a part-time basis.
