Logistics is the gathering and transport of material goods. This associate degree program is designed to prepare you for the fields of transportation or materials management. The transportation track focuses on methods of transportation, distribution, inventory control and purchasing. Materials management courses focus on purchasing, inventory or production control. The employment outlook in logistics is very optimistic. Typical job titles include transportation manager, transportation sales representative, terminal manager, claims manager, inventory control analyst, and warehouse supervisor. Core skills include conceptual ability, problem solving, organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Expect some variable shift work and overtime.
