A criterion considered in the petition process is verification of student residency. Students selected via the petition process are chosen based on MATC district residency, then Wisconsin nondistrict residency, followed by nonresidents, unless otherwise stated. |

2011-12 Course Requirements
This technical diploma program provides students with the opportunity to learn a variety of patient care skills to work with the dentist during the examination and treatment of patients. Students learn how to make patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, obtain dental records and prepare them for treatment. Proper techniques for sterilization and disinfection of equipment and instruments, preparation of tray set-ups for dental procedures, exposing and processing x-rays and assisting the dentist at chairside are emphasized. Employment opportunities are plentiful, both in private offices and clinic settings. Core skills include conscientious work habits and good interpersonal skills.
