Technical Studies: Apprentice

Overview — Advanced standing for the Technical Studies: Apprentices associate degree is based solely on your apprenticeship experience. You may apply for advanced standing if you hold a Wisconsin Certificate of Apprenticeship that included a minimum of 400 hours of related instruction in a WTCS college or other accredited institution. You may also be considered if you possess documentation of having served an apprenticeship recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor. With proper documentation, 32 selected credits will be waived. There is no charge for this course waiver. Contact the apprenticeship counselor for details, 414-571-4743.

Preparation for Admission — The following are required for admission to the program:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Demonstration of proficiency in basic skills through a course placement assessment

This program will transfer to one or more four-year institutions.
