HVAC Digital Controls Lab

- For students, apprentice candidates and interns enrolled in MATC technology programs
- A continuing-education resource for journeyperson upgrades, technicians, sales personnel, supervisors and building maintenance staff
- Showcases latest-generation, programmable, comfort system controls
"Smart buildings" are here. In most new construction - and now being retrofitted to older buildings - central computers control the various energy systems. At the HVAC Digital Controls Lab, students learn to manage and maintain these digital technologies in a wireless environment, integrating other alarm and security systems. They also learn how to perform life-cycle cost analyses. The lab monitors all systems operations and manufacturing processes at ECAM. It also supports research, development, testing and implementation of energy-saving strategies.
