Introduction to Computer-Aided Drafting
(Stand-alone course)
Starting January 2008

One-semester, 12-credit sequence teaches you to program CNC turning centers. The curriculum is designed for those who already have basic operating skills. All programs that you write will be proved out on a full-sized, industrial turning center, with emphasis on tooling, speeds and feeds for metal cutting.

CIVIL-102 - Introduction to AutoCAD (2 credits) - Explores the advantages of computer-aided drafting (CAD) for creation of two-dimensional, scaled and dimensioned drawings. You will use the program to draw lines, circles, import text and practice editing commands such as erase, trim, and copy. Also covers layer, block array and plot techniques.
