Program and build your very own robot in this exciting weeklong camp led by MATC faculty. Students will use online tools such as VEX IQ and other interactive resources to create the code, assemble the robot from scratch and then program it to do simple tasks. Faculty teach concepts of robotics and coding through fun and engaging hands-on activities.

Students will experiment with several hands-on, online cybersecurity labs. The camp introduces students to basic networking and cybersecurity with a review of standard operating systems such as Windows and Linux; a study of Internet Protocol IP addressing and getting familiar with IPv4 and IPv6; and a basic review of network devices such as routers, switches and firewalls. Students will be introduced to cybersecurity troubleshooting, scanning, analysis and security penetration testing tools such as Netstat, Ping, Traceroute, Nmap, Wireshark and Metasploit.

With games, videos and other fun activities, this camp introduces students to concepts of Lean Process Improvement. Lean tools reduce waste and increase speed and efficiency in everyday activities. Students learn hands-on problem-solving techniques and how to improve any process with critical thinking.

Offered in partnership with Gaming, this course introduces students to 3D Studio Max, one of the most popular 3D design tools on the planet. Using this software, campers will design and create a character piece that they will use in a board game during Gaming camp. Students will also explore art and animation as a career — more and more 3D content is being made for television, video and film.

Animation and Gaming go hand in hand. Campers are encouraged but not required to take one week of Animation and another week of Gaming and vice versa. This recommendation gives campers the full animation/gaming career experience.
